About
Eric P H Kim, RP (He/Him)
- I operate from a Narrative Therapy approach, so I’d love to hear your story. So let's sit down and begin exploring concerns you have and how they are impacting you. We don’t just talk weekly, which is a concern clients often bring up. We will be tracking patterns, understanding the impact of our behaviours, thoughts, and feelings, learning coping skills and making adjustments in behaviour and thoughts, and learning to sit with uncomfortable feelings. Each client is unique, so my approach is tailored to meet your needs. We’ll collaborate on your outcomes, and together I’ll support you through your own personal journey of growth and healing. With some support, I know you’ll be able to make the impactful changes you need in your life.
Qualification
- For insurance purposes, I am a Registered Psychotherapist, RP with the CRPO. I completed my Masters of Counselling Psychology at Adler University in Vancouver, BC. I have specialized training in delivering Narrative Therapy, Gottman Method & Trauma Therapy but I also have an eclectic approach that includes CBT, DBT, Emotional Focused work, & Family Systems.
Experience
- I have been working in Toronto for the past 10-years supporting the community through Family Services agencies and EFAP to support people through every imaginable concern that Clients have had. I have shifted my focus to supporting more clients to explore their traumas and begin specialized treatment in establishing safety, mapping trauma, and resolving integration of experiences. I am also very happy to be supporting the LGBTQ2SIIA+/Queer population throughout the years and working with KINK and consensual non-monogamous relationships navigate through finding solutions in their personal and romantic lives. I support parents in finding solutions with their children through adjusting parenting styles and philosophies. Learn to understand how to navigate parenting without emotional and physical abuse, and foster your children’s potential to learn and grow. Finally, I have been supporting the growing population of men and Asians seeking therapy for the first time or continuing on their journey of navigating their identity in our current landscape. Helping clients break out of identity constraints that do not fit their current lifestyle and establishing a functional narrative with themselves and their communities. Don’t worry if you don’t fall into any of these categories, because if you’re dealing with depression, social anxiety, or just working through large transitions in your life, I can support you too.
